Established in March 2002, the program promotes close working relationships between IBM and leading third-party Intellectual Property (IP) vendors and their ASIC customers, helping to ensure first-time-right designs are completed right the first time, and rapid time to market of chips for advanced electronic systems products for their ASIC customers. It fosters close working relationships between IBM and select third-party providers such as QualCore Logic to facilitate customer utilization of IP that has been proven in IBM Microelectronics' leading ASIC manufacturing technologies.

With the IBM IP Collaboraton Program, third-party IP is available for licensing directly from IBM program members, including QualCore Logic, to integrate into ASICs manufactured by IBM.
